What we store without asking

Two entries sit in the site’s local storage: the language you picked (“tc_lang”) and your answer to the banner (“terrenocheck-cookie-consent-v1”, which reads either “essential” or “optional”). Neither holds personal data and neither is sent to our server.

Visit counting happens on our own server, so nothing is written to or read from your device for it. To tell one visit from another, the server derives a non-reversible code from the truncated IP address, the user agent and the browser language; that code changes every day at midnight UTC.

What loads only after you consent

Choose “Allow optional cookies” in the banner and the page loads two Google Ireland Limited services: Google Analytics and Google Ads. Both write cookies and send Google data about the visit, including your IP address. We use them to see which pages get read and which ad led to an order.

Until you choose, the Google script is not fetched and your browser opens no connection to googletagmanager.com. The consent declared to the tag stays “denied” for ad storage, analytics storage, user data and personalisation.

The legal basis is your consent: Article 122 of the Italian Privacy Code (Legislative Decree 196/2003) and Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, following the Garante’s cookie guidelines of 10 June 2021.

If you choose “Essential only”

The site stays fully usable: you can search for the parcel, read the guides and complete a purchase. Only our own measurement is missing.

Changing your mind, or withdrawing

“Cookie preferences” sits at the foot of every page. It reopens the banner, and your next answer replaces the previous one: from the following page load the Google script is no longer requested. Withdrawal works for the future; it does not make earlier processing unlawful.

You can also clear site data for terrenocheck.it in your browser settings. That removes the cookies Google wrote on terrenocheck.it, and the banner comes back on your next visit. Cookies Google keeps on its own domains have to be cleared separately, again in the browser.

Third-party content: the map and the payment

The map you pick the parcel on loads its tiles from api.mapbox.com and, on a different view, from tile.openstreetmap.org or server.arcgisonline.com (Esri). Those providers receive your IP address at the moment the map draws. They are there to make the selection work, not to measure you.

Payment runs on Stripe Checkout, which uses its own technology necessary for the charge and for fraud prevention. Typefaces are served from terrenocheck.it, so no request for the text you are reading goes to Google.

Google, the United States and your rights

Google also processes data in the United States. The transfer relies on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses and on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which Google has joined.
